The sports ecosystem is a complex field that encompasses a multitude of actors, ranging from athletes to sponsors, through the media and sports organisations. At the heart of this ecosystem, sport has become a global phenomenon, generating billions of dollars in revenue every year. But beyond the economic aspect, sport also plays a crucial role in promoting health, education and social development.

Technology has revolutionised the sports ecosystem in recent years, improving the experience of athletes and spectators. Advances in data analytics, virtual reality and artificial intelligence enable teams to better understand athlete performance and optimise their strategies. Digital media has also changed the way we consume sport, providing online content and live broadcasts globally.
Sport is often used as a tool of gentle diplomacy, promoting cultural exchanges and relations between nations. International sporting events, such as the Olympic Games, offer a unique platform for countries to promote their image and strengthen their diplomatic ties. However, sport can also be a field of political tensions, as shown by the boycotts and controversies that have marked the history of sport.
The sports ecosystem is also facing significant environmental and social challenges. Sporting events generate waste and greenhouse gas emissions, while sports infrastructure can have a negative impact on local ecosystems. Sports organisations and governments must work together to promote sustainable practises and reduce the carbon footprint of sports.
