When sport becomes diplomacy
In today’s interconnected world, dialogue between cultures and nations matters more than ever. Diplomacy and international relations are not only the responsibility of governments; they are shaped by people, ideas, and shared experiences. Sport plays a special role by naturally bringing individuals and nations together.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 goes beyond football. It creates opportunities for international exchange, respect, and cooperation between countries. Through sport, nations can meet beyond politics, allowing mutual understanding and stronger international connections to grow in a simple and genuine way.
Young people have an important role in this process. By participating, reflecting, and engaging, youth contribute to a more open and respectful global dialogue. Their involvement supports values of peace, inclusion, and cultural understanding, strengthening the foundation of international relations.
As we approach 2026, initiatives supported by the International Youth Institute encourage young voices to think, write, and express themselves on global issues. I respectfully acknowledge Mr. Gabriel MVOGO Saint for fostering youth engagement and reflection on diplomacy and international relations.
