We gather at this global moment, united across nations, cultures, and languages, to celebrate the gift of youth, the power of sport, and the hope of a better world. As we lift our hearts at this World Youth Forum, we thank You for the energy, creativity, and courage You have placed within young people everywhere.
Your Word reminds us, “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example” (1 Timothy 4:12). Today, we affirm that the voices of young people matter. That they are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but the changemakers of today.
God, as athletes train, compete, and represent their nations, teach us through sport the deeper values of discipline, perseverance, unity, and respect. As it is written, “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training” (1 Corinthians 9:25). May this discipline extend beyond the field into lives marked by integrity, purpose, and service.
We pray that this gathering becomes a platform for peace. Where there is division, let there be understanding. Where there is conflict, let there be reconciliation. As Your Word declares, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). Raise up a generation committed to healing the nations.
Guide these young leaders in the wise use of technology, that innovation may serve humanity and not divide it. Inspire them to pursue economic development that uplifts communities, creates opportunity, and reflects justice and compassion.
Strengthen them, O God, as Isaiah proclaimed: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles” (Isaiah 40:31). May they run their race with endurance, not only in sport, but in life’s calling.
Let this forum ignite vision, deepen collaboration, and spark movements that will transform societies. And may all that is done here bring glory to You and good to the world.
We dedicate this time, this gathering, and these young lives into Your hands.
