One of the most notable diplomatic moments of the 2026 World Youth Forum – Special World Cup, held in Miramar, Florida, was marked by the distinguished presence of Her Excellency Seheli Sabrin, Consul General of Bangladesh in Miami.
Following her opening remarks at the forum’s official ceremony, Consul General Seheli Sabrin presented special diplomatic gifts to Mr. Gabriel MVOGO SAINT, President of the Youth Institute USA, and the Honorable Wayne Messam, Mayor of the City of Miramar.
These prestigious gifts, bearing the signature of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh in Dhaka, symbolized friendship, mutual respect, and Bangladesh’s commitment to youth engagement and international cooperation.
During the presentation of the gifts, Consul General Seheli Sabrin emphasized the importance of empowering young people to take action across borders and of strengthening ties between nations through education, dialogue, and the creation of opportunities.
She noted that Bangladesh places great importance on initiatives that place youth at the heart of global development and commended the World Youth Forum for creating a platform where talented young people can meet, exchange ideas, and contribute to peace and progress.
Accepting this diplomatic gift on behalf of the Youth Institute USA, Gabriel MVOGO SAINT warmly thanked the Consul General as well as the Government of Bangladesh for this deeply meaningful gesture.
Following the opening ceremony, Mr. Gabriel MVOGO spoke to media representatives, describing Bangladesh as :
« a nation of resilience, innovation, and growing opportunities, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to youth development, education, entrepreneurship, and economic progress. […] I wish to establish a framework for collaboration with Bangladeshi authorities, institutions, and organizations dedicated to youth, with the aim of supporting and strengthening young people’s capacities through leadership development programs; mentorship designed to foster an entrepreneurial spirit; and the implementation of peacebuilding and civic engagement projects. »
He stated that the Youth Institute USA seeks to deepen its ties and views Bangladesh as a major strategic partner in Asia for the promotion of youth empowerment and global cooperation.
As the World Youth Forum continues to gain momentum, the Youth Institute USA, through its president, considers moments such as this to reaffirm that youth diplomacy and international partnerships remain essential pillars for building a more peaceful and prosperous future.
